Two Tails Productions produced one of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s most mischievous and exciting brand partnerships to date.
Two Tails were thrilled to create Beano concepts and creative proposals, providing a fully turnkey production phase, including technical design, build and installation of eight separate experiences, such as Dennis Seed Catapults, Dangerous Dan’s Clean Up Mission, Harsha’s Trump Tunnel and a site wide Gnasher trail. The six week long immersive Beano experience celebrated the comic book’s famous characters and drove important messages, key to ZSL’s mission, around the environment and protecting nature.
Upon entry to the Zoo, visitors receive a specially commissioned, exclusive Beano comic story, and then encounter Beano’s much-loved characters in action-packed challenges and games, where the comic is brought to life.
The mischievous Beanotown kids take charge of animal conservation. With a belief in making a real difference where some grown-ups may have fallen short, visitors join Dennis and his friends to learn how to protect wildlife both at home and around the world, whilst having a blast along the way!
We worked closely with ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and the Beano Studio to create bespoke branded activities across the site.
Visitors were greeted with a giant quiz upon entry to the activity area, where they could find out which Beano character they are most like, before they make their way to some giant catapults where the aim of the game is to hit the giant Beano style targets.
After making their own seeds bombs out of clay, and hunting and identifying native insects on our bug trail, visitors were challenged to walk through Harsha’s Tunnel of Trumps, a branded tunnel with an aroma system inside to give them a true smell of animal waste!
The next challenge visitors’ faced was courtesy of Beanotown’s resident spy, Dangerous Dan. We designed and custom built giant maze games and some cypher wheels for aspiring spies to decode.
The Beano fun concluded with an arts and craft area, where visitors could decorate their spinning pinwheels with a personal pledge on how they can help and protect animals and the environment, adding to an enormous pinwheel meadow.
It was a great honour working with a much loved, long standing British brand like the Beano, and of course returning to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo for another blamtastic Summer holiday event.
