Wallace & Gromit’s wrong trousers get re-imagined at this year’s Big Bang Exhibition.
We were delighted to return to The Big Bang Exhibition this month. This fantastic event, held at Birmingham’s NEC, is the UK’s largest celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for young minds. From June 21st to 23rd, the innovative exhibition is designed to spark curiosity and passion for STEM among the next generation of scientists and engineers.
Working with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and animation giants Aardman, the ‘Wallace & Gromit’s Cracking Ideas Competition’ stand gives budding inventors the chance to reinvent Wallace’s iconic ‘wrong trousers’ into something impactful for our planet. Visitors were invited to explore ways in which the trousers could be repurposed for environmental good. Could they help plant trees, collect rubbish from the sea, or be crafted from recycled materials? Visitors brought their inventions to life by tracing their patented designs using custom-built interactive light boxes.
Two Tails provided a full turnkey service for the IPO’s stand and activities, including concept design, build and installation, and storage solutions. ‘Wallace & Gromit’s Cracking Ideas Competition’ stand was first conceived in 2020 and went live in 2022, since then it has been regularly updated to not only remain well-maintained but also to stay relevant, appealing, and engaging to the young visitors of The Big Bang Exhibition.
Our partnership with the IPO spans over 15 years, helping them to elevate the understanding of intellectual property, trademarking, patenting, and copyrighting to young people.
