Freelance Event Build/Site Crew
With over 20 years’ experience, Two Tails Productions is well respected within the live events industry and is now looking to expand its team of freelance event build/site crew to help deliver it’s increasing portfolio of exceptional family experiences.
Location
- Surrey, London, and South East UK.
- Events predominantly across UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Setup & Dismantling: Erecting temporary structures, marquee tents, flags and barriers, and tearing them down efficiently upon project completion.
- Manual Handling: Loading/unloading vehicles, moving heavy materials (e.g. timber and steel) across sites.
- Safety & Maintenance: Cleaning sites, removing hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
- Event/Site Preparation: Dressing areas, setting up furniture, or preparing, repairing, and painting event spaces.
- Warehouse Duties: Preparing event equipment, basic repairs, and maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy manual labour, often working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Teamwork and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work within a team and follow instructions from the site event manager.
- Reliability: Punctual, hardworking, and committed to deadlines.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel to different locations.
- Tool Handling: Experience with basic power tools is essential.
- Basic Carpentry skills: Will be required to install, level and make safe structures made from different materials, including wood.
- Driving License: Must have a full driving licence with ability to drive hire vans including LWB transits and Luton style vans. Own car to get to locations preferred.
- Attitude: Positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Health and Safety: A basic knowledge of expected event safety practices required. Must have own PPE footwear.
Rate
- £250 / 10hr + travel if required
Please note: This work will be fully self-employed, you must have a UTR and be registered with a Government Gateway account. You will be solely responsible for ensuring you are compliant with all HMRC rules for a sole trader.
